Where They Stand

Sourced briefings on the record of Parliament

Topic briefings

Where MPs and peers stand on the issues Parliament keeps returning to, kept up to date as new debates, questions and statements arrive.

Each is written in the same way as any other briefing: from the official record only, with every statement cited. A topic is rewritten when Parliament has said something new on it, at most once a week, and earlier versions are kept. For anything not listed here, ask your own question.

How topics are chosen

Topics cover the subjects most debated in Parliament, across every area of policy, and each question is worded neutrally: it names no side and asks what positions have been taken, not whether any of them is right. To suggest a topic, email admin@wheretheystand.uk.
