Anne Jago
Early day motion 1029, tabled 26 October 2026 by Tim Farron (Liberal Democrat). Signed by 1 member.
That this House notes the case of Anne Jago, a former deputy headteacher and educational visits coordinator, who was found guilty of misconduct for raising safeguarding concerns about a school residential visit; further notes evidence that her actions were supported by multiple witnesses and motivated by concerns for pupil and staff safety; appeals to an admission of the Department of Education made in 2018, that "There is no question Mrs Jago had the best interests of the children at heart;" recognises the importance of protecting education staff who raise safeguarding concerns; and calls on the Government to strengthen whistle blower protections and ensure child safety remains paramount.
